A book a month – my personal development commitment

Posted · 1 Comment

One of my goals for 2015 is to commit to one personal development book per month to grow myself.  As the saying goes, growth is intentional. You have to plan it, you have to dedicate time to it and invest into it.   I for one am not leaving anything to chance.  When I learn of a good personal development book, I make a point of adding it to the notes section on my phone. Yesterday, I took the time to go through the list to prioritize and schedule my personal development for the year.

January: Failing Forward, John Maxwell

February: Five love languages by Gary Chapman in honour of Valentines

March: Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success, Steve Harvey

April: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk

May:  People follow you by Jeb Blount

June: The Go-giver by Bob Burg

July: Daring greatly by Brene Brown

August: Go for No! by Richard Fenton

September: Entre-leadership by Dave Ramsey

October:  Developing the leader within by John Maxwell

November: Adversaries into Allies by Bob Burg

December: You’re made for a God sized dream by Holley Gerth

It was so hard to narrow it down to only 12. There are so many great books out there.  What are your favourite personal development books? Gotta start re-building my reading list! Comment below.

  1. I love this! I totally agree with you on personal development. I feel like I can’t go to bed without reading now and last year I didn’t even read! I like your collection also. My suggestions include The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John C Maxwell, Feel the Fear and do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers, The success Principles by Jack Canfield,…..just to start! Wow can’t believe I went through those already but you are absolutely right, we have the ability to intentionally wire ourselves so why not do it for the better?
